Gladys “Sandy” Phillips, born in 1958, was interviewed by Edison Middle School student, D’Lige, at her home on January 19, 2010.

Ms. Phillips is a singer with the group, Candy Foster and Shades of Blue.  She has been singing professionally since the 1980s and grew up singing in her church.  She talked to D’Lige about the music of today and yesterday. 

She works in human resources at UPS. Originally, she worked for Fed X for 22 years.  She went back to school to get a masters’ degree that qualified her to work in HR.
