Ms. Joan Murphy, teacher at Jefferson Middle School, is interviewed for a second time on April 15, 2010, at Jefferson Middle School by YMW participant, Sonie. Sonie digs deeper into her topic of high school drop-outs with Ms. Murphy and tries to uncover the reasons why Ms. Murphy was able to make different choices than her peers in her all-Black neighborhood by attending a vocational high school in Chicago and then college in Urbana.  Where did her motivation and strength come from?
